"I love these eyeshadows. The only complaint I have and why I didn't give 5 stars is that some of the colors are not as pigmented as others, and you have to use a lot of eyeshadow compared to others. You also would do better to use primer first. These are still my favorite as they do not irritate my skin. These eyeshadows are also great for use as eyeliner."

"This is good, but not great, eyeshadow. The few I have are all easy to apply. Coverage is buildable, which I love -- can be light or dramatic. It doesn't last all day, unless you use a primer or staying powder or something to help it out. My eyes are sometimes irritated by eye makeup, but this eyeshadow doesn't bother me at all."

"My eyes tend to be sensitive and some eye shadows will make my eye lids red and puffy. I started using Aveda eye shadow in 2003 and found that any color that I have tried has worked fine for me. I have occasionally strayed to another brand and always kick myself when I have to throw out brand new eyeshadow. I will only buy Aveda eyeshadow going forward! The color stays nicely throughout the day."

"I love how you can keep layering on the shadow to make it as intense as you like. If you want a natural look you can simply do one or two layers of color. For more dramatic eyes, you can keep building layers to the intensity you like. One of the Aveda make up artists showed me that you can even wet your Aveda eye makeup brushes & the eye makeup to get an effect like eye liner or deep intense color anywhere on your eyes. My favorite colors are Aura and Illumination, which I hope they never discontinue."

"This is like a sample size. The eye shadow does not go on well or evenly. For what it costs I expected more. I would have sent it back but I threw out the receipt without trying it first as I thought Aveda usually has good products."

"I bought two of these, Azurite-935 and Amethyst-937, they have intense color that's buildable and fit nicely into the Environmental compact. I was a little dissapointed in how small the shadows are something you can't really gauge until you get them opend and put in to your compact. I do like the concept of building my own color palette with the magnetic compacts, that way I am not saddled with colors I won't use."

"I am a huge fan of the Aveda skin and hair products, but am terribly disappointed with the make up. Based on the positive reviews of the eye color, I purchased the Moon and Aurora shades. I did not realize they didn't come in a compact, but rather in little plastic trays. I must have missed the note where it states you need to buy a separate compact. It is very difficult to use a little sponge or brush and apply the eye shadow. The eye shadow itself has very little pigment, creases, and doesn't last very long. Based on my experience with the eye and lip color products, I won't be buying any more Aveda make up."

"Azalea was the first Aveda eye shadow I ever used. I became addicted and now all I wear are Aveda eye shadows! I love how the shadow lasts all day and does not crease. The colors go on amazingly smooth and can be easily blended with other colors to create one of a kind looks. Love them!"
